Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes the information collected by Overstat and how that information is used.

The Overstat Service

Overstat collects data about visitors to website(s) that have been registered with our service, only on the pages on those sites where the Overstat service has been explicitly installed. We collect data on any and all activities by visitors to those pages (including mouse clicks, mouse movements, scrolling and typing), and transmit that data over the Internet for storage on our secure servers. The data we collect does not allow personal identification of any visitors, except for specific items that were voluntarily entered. We do not record any data for any other websites.

What We Collect

The data we collect may include:
  • Personal details that are entered and submitted, e.g. names, addresses and email addresses;
  • IP addresses, referring sites, web pages visited and other data stored in website logs;
  • Session information (but not personal data) stored in cookies. Note that if you configure your browser to reject cookies, you might not be able to use your Overstat account;
  • If you have an account with Overstat, your personal preferences and settings;

We do not store sensitive payment details such as your credit card number, expiry date and security code without your express permission.

The Data

Security and Confidentiality:

The data we collect is stored as securely as possible, and we take strenuous measures to ensure that it remains secure. We will not let anyone have access to any of that data except Overstat employees, contractors, agents and partners who have a need for such access to provide our services. These organizations and individuals are bound by confidentiality and other agreements and are required to treat the stored data with the same level of security and care as we do.

Use of the Information

Any data we collect will be used for the following purposes:
  • Personal information will be used as necessary to allow us to provide the Overstat Service, and for auditing, research and analysis to operate and improve Overstat’s products and services;
  • To ensure the quality of our customer service, we may retain and share internally any emails or other written communications that you send us.
  • We will release data to comply with legal requirements or when required by a legitimate law enforcement agency.
  • We may share personal information with third parties in certain, limited circumstances, including to prevent imminent fraud or personal harm, and to ensure the security of our network and services;
  • In order to use third party products or services. If we use such products or services, we require that they be bound by similar levels of confidentiality and security as this Privacy Policy;
  • We may share non-personal, aggregated summary data with third parties;
  • We may use your email address to contact you about our products and services. You may choose to opt in or out of such emails at any time.

Disclosure

Except as described above we will not disclose your information publicly, or sell, share or trade it with a third party without your express permission. However if Overstat (or some or all of its assets) is acquired by or merges with a third party, we will provide notice before any personal information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

General

If we receive any complaints about privacy, we will contact the person in question in an attempt to resolve the complaints to their satisfaction. We will also cooperate with any appropriate regulatory authorities, including local data protection authorities, should the need arise. We may occasionally change this Privacy Policy. If and/or when we do so the updated version will be posted on our website.
